Annette C. Watson, RN-BC, CCM, MBA
Ms. Watson’s professional background includes extensive operational, executive, consulting, board and committee experience. She is a well-known expert and thought leader focusing on insurance, managed care and medical management industry best practices that improve health care quality and patient safety. She is also an authority on the value of accreditation and standards as a quality improvement mechanism.
Ms. Watson is the Managing Director of Global Emerging Business for CARF International, a major international health and human service accreditation organization. Previously, she was a Sr. Vice President and the first Chief Accreditation Officer of URAC.
Before entering the accreditation field in 2001 she held executive, management, and clinical positions in the hospital, home health, family practice, health insurance, and managed care settings.
In addition to her work with CARF, Ms. Watson provides independent consulting services to a private client portfolio. In this capacity, she recently worked as a contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense providing subject matter expertise on domestic and international managed care quality.
Ms. Watson has served on numerous national committees and task forces, including the National Quality Forum Research and Quality Council, the National Business Coalition on Health Healthcare Leadership Council, the Disease Management Association of America Patient Safety Committee and Patient Satisfaction Committee, the Academy for Health Care Management/Curriculum Advisory Committee, the American College of Medical Quality Forum on Quality in Managed Care and the URAC Standards Committee.
